PURPOSE: A method for selecting a response message in a mobile communication terminal is provided to confirm a caller ID when the mobile communication terminal receives a call in a state in which an automatic response function is not set up, select one response message among various response messages previously stored in the mobile communication terminal in situation in which a user does not want to receive the call or it is impossible for the user to receive the call, and transmit the selected response. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal confirms whether a caller ID is received in a call termination state(S1,S2). If an automatic response function of the mobile communication terminal is not set up, the mobile communication terminal discriminates whether a user wants to perform a terminal call(S3). If the user does not want to perform the terminal call or it is impossible for the user to perform the terminal call, the user selects a kind of a voice message(S5) and the mobile communication terminal transmits the selected voice message to an object(S6).
