PURPOSE: Plastic moldings the surface of which has high strength and wear resistance and is treated as a metallic gloss formed surface or a metallic gloss removed surface are provided, and a method for manufacturing plastic moldings is provided. CONSTITUTION: The plastic moldings(1) are characterized in that they are manufactured by treating the surface of the coated plastic moldings after sequentially coating hard coating layer(3), metal deposition film layer(4) and metal or metal compound layer(5) by ion plating accompanying sputtering on the surface of plastic moldings, wherein the plastic moldings are formed of any one material of polyolefin, polystyrene, ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) resin, acrylic resin and polycarbonate thermoplastic resin, a material composing the hard coating layer is formed of a material selected from hardening type urethane resin, hardening type silicone resin and ultraviolet ray hardening type acrylic resin, the hard coating layer has thickness of 3 to 60 micrometers, metallic material composing the metal deposition film layer is formed of a material selected from Ti, Ti alloy, Cr, V, Zr, Cu, Pd, Pd alloy, Au and Au alloy, the metal deposition film layer has thickness of 0.01 to 1 micrometer, metal or metal compound layer forming a coating film layer by ion plating is consisted of TiN, TiC, (Ti,Al)-N, CrN, TiAlC, TiAlCn, TiAlN, Cu, Au, Au alloy or Pd, the coating film layer has thickness of 0.01 to 3 micrometers, and a primer layer(2) is formed between the surface and the hard coating layer of the plastic moldings to help close adhesion therebetween.
