METHOD FOR FABRICATING ACTIVATED CARBON USING POROUS POLYMER

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for fabricating activated carbon using porous polymer, wherein the activated carbon has increased specific surface area in comparison with a conventional activated carbon and high carbon contents, and the method reduces fabrication cost and increases productivity. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) impregnating porous polymer with chemical activating agent at a temperature of -5 to 120 deg.C, and (b) activating the resultant product obtained in the step (a) in inert gas ambient at a temperature of 100 to 1200 deg.C at temperature raise ratio of 1 to 120 deg.C/min.
