Effluent is supplied to the separator by an inlet pipe (10) with an end section (20) located above the base (28) of a container housing the separator. This end section is oriented at angle of 50-160 deg. relative to the vertical and a tongue (30) forms an extension of the bottom edge of its free end. The tongue extends essentially parallel to the pipe end section, has a width less than 4 cm and has a length of at least 6 cm. This enables the liquid fraction of the effluent to run off the end of the tongue and ensures that the solid fraction falls of one of the sides of the tongue into the container. |
