PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce an ink cartridge mechanically. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 10 for supplying ink to an ink jet recorder through the ink supply needle of an ink jet recorder comprises a container body 12 having substantially rectangular prism shape including an ink supply surface 18 for arranging an ink supply path 16 being inserted with the ink supply needle where the height h of the side face 26 substantially orthogonal to the ink supply surface is larger than at least one width w thereof and one side face 28 is opening in the widthwise direction, a cover 14 having the substantially same shape as the open side face of the container body and sealing the open side face, a rib 40 disposed in a space defined by the container body and the cover and reinforcing the ink cartridge in the widthwise direction, and a porous material 20 contained in the space defined by the container body and the cover and covering the surrounding of the rib while detouring. |
