The registration and identification (3,4) of objects via the Internet are for use with pleasure boats and involve transponders placed and sealed in agreed and secret places on the vessel. The transponders contain the registration number with which the vessel is also known on the Internet and with which general vessel data (1) is connected, together with details of the technical components from which the vessel is constructed. The system is protected by codes determined by an encryption method and which can be decoded by a number of separate different procedures. This makes sure that the ownership of the vessel can be made acceptable.
