PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a product requiring high dimensional accuracy or excellent appearance in an insert molding method without increasing the manufacturing cost of a mold. SOLUTION: An insert member 12 having an incorporation part incorporated in a molded main body 10 and an extension part extended from the incorporation part is prepared. A cover member 20 for covering the region adjacent to the incorporation part in a close contact state is attached to the extension part of the insert member 12 in a detachable manner to fabricate an insert assembly 22 while a mold 38 having a molding surface 36 corresponding to the outer shape of the molded main body 10 is prepared. The insert assembly 22 is arranged to the mold 38 so that the mold cavity 46 of the molded main body 10 is formed by the cooperation of the surface of the cover member 20 with the molding surface 36 of the mold 38 and the incorporation part of the insert member 12 is positioned in the mold cavity 46. Then, a material is supplied to the mold cavity 46 to mold the molded main body 10 having the incorporation part of the insert member 12 monolithically incorporated therein.
