PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a truing-up mechanism capable of stably positioning a medium such as a passbook in a reference position of its width direction in regard to a truing-up mechanism positioning the medium by butting a truing-up roller against the medium and abutting the medium on a member. SOLUTION: Driving of performing a series of truing-up sequences and butting against the medium and abutting it on the member 15 until positioning of the medium is finished is repeated a plurality of times with driving in a direction opposite of separating the medium from the butting member 15 in between. It is composed so that butting is carried out by using the truing-up roller 20, but in driving, the medium 1 is pressurized by pressure members 7 and 8.
