The invention relates to a method for electrochemically producing hydrogen peroxide, especially for producing an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, by electrochemically reacting oxygen and hydrogen in a fuel cell. The H2O2 concentration of the cathodically obtained aqueous hydrogen peroxide solutio n can be substantially increased by increasing the thickness of the membrane layer of a membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) of the fuel cell.
