The work station (1) is connected to the ingoing subscriber exchange functions (2, 2) via their respective interfaces (G, G) and contains functions which can automatically determine the subscriber exchange unit to which a call belongs. The work station includes information concerning which functions belong to which applications (3, 3) or it can retrieve this information. A call can be converted into a different subscriber exchange function by changing the environment in which the call is controlled, from the environment associated with the function for the incoming call to the environment associated with the function to be linked to the call before the final transfer takes place. - The functions are realized using Centrex. At least one function relates to a mobile phone network. The interface comprises a software API (Application Programmers Interface), a serial interface with associated software protocol, data communication in the transmission network signaling channel or data communication via a data network such as TCP/IP via Ethernet, USB, Firewire or the like. The work station is connected to two or more subscriber exchange unit functions and includes application apparatus and an overall control panel with a function for transferring calls between subscriber exchange environments. |
