PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a spring-up assisting roller, with which the end of a paper is not only quickly caught and sprung up but also the frictional force of which can favorably execute the spring-up of the paper when the outer peripheral surface of the tip of a blade comes into slidingly contact with the paper under the condition that the wear of the blade is low, and a page turning-over mechanism, with which the turning-over of the page is executed favorably and, at the same time, the exchanging cycle of the spring-up assisting roller therein can be prolonged. SOLUTION: The spring-up assisting roller 30 catches the end of the paper 41 of, for example, the paper to be turned over of a bankbook 40 with its blade 31 through its rotation to the R-direction. A plurality of blades 31 are arranged radially. The outer peripheral surface at the tip of each blade 31 has a straight groove 32 having a V-shaped cross-section extending to the rotary center axis direction of the roller.
