PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen printer which executes operation for cleaning a screen plate 3 and operation for sucking a base plate 5 at printing by a common vacuum unit, and controls by one controller to enhance the efficiency. SOLUTION: The screen printer prints a surface of the matter to be printed in which a printing material on the surface is disposed on a rear surface of the screen plate 3, by moving the front surface of the plate 3 formed with a screen plate opening 26 in the printing direction of the squeegee 2. The printer comprises a cleaner 24 for sucking and cleaning the opening 26 and the rear surface, a printing table 7 for sucking, holding and positioning the base plate 5, a common vacuum unit 12 for executing the sucking operation of the cleaner 24 and the sucking operation of the table 7, a switching valve 18 for switching the sucking operations, and a controller 29 for controlling timing for switching the sucking operations.
