PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor with its width narrowed and with the number of rails reduced. SOLUTION: A front wheel 5 and a rear wheel 6 installed under a step 1 are positioned so that they may be located under a tread 2 within the width of the tread 2 and that the swept paths of the wheels 5, 6 overlap in the direction of width. Guide rails 11, 12 are provided, which serve both wheels 5, 6.
