PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ink jet head with a water repellent film superior in the wiping durability being formed to a face of a resin material, and an ink jet head manufactured by the ink jet head manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The ink jet head manufacturing method has a roughed face formation process in which a surface of a base material of a nozzle plate where nozzles are to be set is roughed to form a roughed face, a fine powder layer formation process in which a fine powder layer with an abrasion resistance is formed to a surface of the roughed face, and a water repellent layer formation process in which a water repellent layer with a water repellency is formed onto the fine powder layer.
