PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of performing cutting easily without requiring a large operating force when a work such as wire is to be cut. SOLUTION: A first operating piece 2 and a second operating piece 3 consisting of cutting acting parts 11 and 12 and shank parts 5 and 6, respectively, are supported by a shaft 4 in such a way that they are capable of being opened and closed. The first cutting acting part 11 is provided at its front edge with a groove 13 for engaging with the wire W to be cut when cutting with the two shank parts closed. The second cutting acting part 12 is provided at the front edge with a blade 14 to be led into the wire W when cutting, and the overall shape of the edge of the blade is made so that the edge position retreats gradually from the base end forming the shaft 4 side toward the forefront in the extensional direction of the second cutting acting part 12.
