PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded product for cushioning material which is excellent in strength, workability and a recycling property by using a vegetable fiber as a principal component, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the molded product for cushioning material wherein vegetable fiber is molded by being joined together with a copolymer of sugar and dicarboxylic acid and in the method for manufacturing the molded product for cushioning material from the vegetable fiber, (a) a process for mixing the copolymer and the vegetable fiber and (b) a process for molding the copolymer into a required shape by heating to join the vegetable plant together, are contained.
