Complex of non-pathogenic Bacillus and Lactobacillus strains capable of converting a nitrogen source to bacterial protein are new, where the nitrogen source is selected from inorganic nitrogen cpds., esp. ammonia, nitrates and nitrites, and organic nitrogen cpds., e.g. urea, urates, amino acids, nitrogen-contg. bases and any other nitrogen cpds. of low mol. wt.
