The water separator consists of feed (20) and outlet (22) chambers for the contaminated and cleaned fuel respectively, separated by a grille (24) and fitted with a collector (26) for the separated water. The grille has two vertical cylindrical surfaces (24A, 24B) facing the feed and outlet chambers, and pores of 90 - 130 microns, and is designed to form water droplets and evacuate them through an aperture (40) in its lower edge.
