PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a draft feeder that can change a sense of resistance in response to opening/closing of a cover with an inexpensive configuration. SOLUTION: The draft feeder where a draft feed section 400 feeds a draft (d) and a read section 422 reads the original d, includes; a cover 600 capable of freely opening/closing and disposed to the draft feed section 400; and a stopper 601 pivotally supported by the cover 600 in a freely rocking manner to keep the cover 600 at a prescribed open angle, and opening/closing the cover 600 allows a projection 604 disposed to the draft feed section 400 to be skidded within a sliding section 601b and selecting the gap in which the projection 604 is contained to be narrower than the width of the projection 604 produces a load due to friction when the cover is open. Further, the stopper 601 is pivotally supported by the draft feed section 400 in a rocking enabled manner, when the cover 600 is opened/closed, the projection 604 disposed to the cover 600 is contained in the stopper 601 and skidded therein, and the gap of the sliding part 601b of the stopper 601 in which the projection 604 is contained is selected to be narrower than the width of the projection 603 to produce a friction load when the cover is opened. |
