The chuck has a coupling part (2) with a tool holder (3) fitted to it which can be displaced axially in a ball bushing (10). Two compression springs (13, 14) fit axially in the boring (6). One has one end against the bushing and the other on a radial extension (18) of the tool holder. The other has one end on the extension and the other on a radial inner wall of the boring.
