SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE METHOD AND TERMINAL

The invention concerns a short message service from a user terminal (7), said terminal (7) being connected to the fixed telephone network (8) through a telephone line (9) identified by a caller telephone number, and to a short message service terminal (7). The method comprises the initial step which consists in: establishing for the telephone line (9), a specific number of recordings which consist each of a short message associated with at least an addressee telephone number, assigning interactive means (10) of the terminal to the short message service, associating each assigned interactive means (10) with a recording. And for each short message sent from the terminal (7), the method comprises steps which consist in: detection, by the terminal (7), of the activation of one of the interactive means (10) assigned to the terminal (7) and in transmitting to each addressee telephone number contained in the recording associated with the activated interactive means (10) the short message contained in the same recording. The short service message terminal (7) comprises: an interactive means (10) assigned to the short message service, as many memory workspaces (11) as assigned interactive means (10), each memory workspace (11) being associated with an assigned interactive means (10) and containing a specific information of said assigned interactive means (10).
