<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thermal influence produced when metal sheaths of power cables are welded with a joint protective pipe of a joint of power cables which are laid after the joint is formed and to make a compound casting hole of the joint protective pipe not interfere with the cable laying work. SOLUTION: Halved metal spacers 4a and 4b are inserted between metal sheaths 3a and 3b of cables and a joint protective metal pipe 2 and the metal spacers 4a and 4b, the metal sheaths 3a and 3b, and the joint protective pipe 2 are point-welded with each other. Further, leaded parts 5a and 5b are formed around the point-welded portions and compound is cast into the joint protective pipe 2. Then moisture-proof tapes 6a and 6b are wound over the outer circumferences of the leaded parts 5a and 5b and the joint protective pipe 2 to complete a joint. Or, a compound casting hole 7 and an overflow hole or a vent hole 8 may be formed between the halved spacers 4a and 4b to cast the compound with a pressure.</p> |
