PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc cache system capable of executing quick start processing by using data cached in a nonvolatile memory. SOLUTION: This disc cache system is equipped with the nonvolatile memory and a disc device. When a system power supply is switched to the on-state, it is detected whether a hard disc is replaced or not, and it is decided whether the data cached in the nonvolatile memory are effective or not. When effective, the data cached in the nonvolatile memory are used for the start processing, to thereby enable the start processing even when spin-up of the hard disc is not finished.
