PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording information on an optical recording medium, which is suitable for realization of a high data transfer rate. SOLUTION: In the method for recording information on an optical recording medium, a plurality of recording marks selected from a group of a plurality kinds of recording marks different in length, which correspond to n-fold lengths of a clock period T (n is a natural number), are formed on the optical recording medium to record information, and a recording laser beam consisting of pulses of which the number is equal to or smaller than the number given by nT/(Tr+ Tf) where Tr is the transition time required for rise of the recording laser beam and Tf is the transition time required for fall of the recording laser beam, is used to form a recording mark. Thus the level of the recording laser beam can be made to surely reach a maximum value (Pw) or a minimum value (Pb) even in the case that the period (T) of one clock is very short, and the recording mark having a satisfactory shape is formed. |
