PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Nb3 Sn superconductive wire material that has sufficient strength, when it is used for a superconductive magnet, against the radial force during magnet operation and shows little characteristic deterioration due to mechanical deformation caused by the radial force. SOLUTION: In an Nb3 Sn superconductive wire material that includes a bronze/filament aggregate in which plurality of niobium (Nb) or niobium-alloy filaments are disposed in a Cu-Su alloy matrix, the niobium or niobium alloy filaments that make up a bronze/filament aggregate 3' are composited into composite filaments by a filament stiffener. The filament stiffener has mechanical strength bigger than that of the niobium or niobium alloy, in a condition of the room temperature or below, after the heat treatment for generating an Nb3 Sn superconductive compound. |
