PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an DLC film which exhibits high adhesion to a film forming surface and sufficient corrosion resistance with a thinner film-thickness as a film for protecting an element and a slider in a magnetic head. SOLUTION: A DLC film is used as a protective film on a surface of the element and the slider of a magnetic head core. When the DLC film is formed by using electric discharging, a film forming step is carried out by a plurality of times to set the DLC film to a predetermined thickness.
