PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a control system which can be easily constructed, and can more accurately transmit information of the control system to an external terminal. SOLUTION: On receiving an inquiry by electronic mail from the remote terminal 4, a response processing part 32 of a programmable display 12 analyses the electronic mail and specifies a type of the inquiry. For example, on receiving an inquiry about a function of the programmable display 12, the response processing part 32 produces an electronic mail having listed functions, and a mail processing part 31 returns the electronic mail to the remote terminal 4. When an inquiry about a self-diagnosis result is received by electronic mail, an electronic mail indicating information related to changeover timing of a consumable part as the self-diagnosis result is returned. When an inquiry about a state of a device 2a is received, an electronic mail indicating the state is returned.
