Shore and bank earthquake protection has underwater dam of self-compacting sacks to retain screening effect and counteract groundwater migration to open water

Earth in dam form is fixed and sealed below the water having been dumped from pontoon for compacting. Sacked granulate is laid with self-sealing pore fill. The dammed area is deep, wide and firm so as not to give way if adjacent ground fluidizes and at the same time minimizes groundwater migration to the open water. On the land side of the dam the screening effect of ground fluidizing is retained during earthquakes and is increased in the event of the groundwater barraging action. The concealed dam serves as foundation for shore or bank protection equipment.
