A synchronization message processing method causing no damage even when a plenty of synchronization messages are received. According to this method, a terminal device 100 includes an application unit 102 for storing data to be data-synchronized and accepting a user operation to this data, a synchronization unit 104 for creating a synchronization message for synchronizing the data stored in the application unit 102 with data of a server 300 and interpreting the synchronization message received from the server 300, and a protocol processing unit 106 for performing a protocol processing for transmitting the synchronization message created by the synchronization unit 104 to a network 200 and performing a protocol processing for passing the synchronization message received from the network 200 to the synchronization unit 104. The protocol processing unit 106 discards a synchronization message if a reception time interval from the preceding synchronization message is within a predetermined time.
