PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which is widened in usable frequency band so as to enable high-frequency modulation signals to be inputted into a light emitting element. SOLUTION: This optical module is equipped with a light emitting element 1 which outputs light, a sub-mount 2 which is formed of thermally conductive dielectric material and mounted with the light emitting element 1, a metal base 3 mounted with the sub-mount 2, a cooling unit 4 which cools down heat released from the light emitting element 1 and is mounted with the metal base 3, and a feed line 5 which feeds high-frequency modulation signals to the light emitting element 1 so as to drive it. The capacitances Cs and Cp of the sub- mount 2 and the cooling unit 4 are connected in series to an equivalent circuit formed between the light emitting element 1 and a grounding. |
