PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for processing graphic information, capable of facilitating the division of an ellipse into desired regions by specifying dividing points of the ellipse at a solid angle. SOLUTION: The ellipse of which the dividing points are desired to specify is specified and information for the ellipse is sampled (S21) to specify a start point, and a finish point and the dividing number for dividing the ellipse (S22). A flat surface to be divided is specified (S23), the flat surface information is referred to, and a 4×4 matrix is calculated based on cosines in X-, Y-, and Z-axis directions. The product for the 4×4 matrix and a coordinate value of the start point and the finish point enclosed in the step 22 is taken, each of which is converted into a 3D coordinate. An angleαformed by the 3D coordinate of the start point and the 3D coordinate of the finish point is calculated and a division angleβis determined based on the dividing number. The distance between the start point and the finish point of the ellipse is divided based on the calculated angleβ(S24). |
