PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device having a light emitting element formed on a plastic board enabled to restrain deterioration caused by permeating moisture or oxygen. SOLUTION: When sealing the light emitting element, vacuum sealing is applied by using a plastic film formed by laminating an inorganic insulation film enabled to prevent permeation of moisture and oxygen and an organic insulation film having an internal stress smaller than that of the inorganic insulation film. Internal stress can be released by interposing the organic insulation film having an internal stress smaller than that of the inorganic insulation film between the inorganic insulation films. The permeation of moisture and oxygen is effectively prevented by laminating a plurality of inorganic insulation films even when a crack is generated at a specific inorganic insulation film, further, the whole part of the sealing film is enabled to release the stress, and the crack caused by stress is hardly generated.
