<p>Systems and methods for weighing and charging components of a product using a radio-frequency order picking and inventory control system (ROPICS) include a server computer (32) having a back-end database (30) for storing inventory data, a client computer (20) that is connected to the server computer (32) by a communications network (12), and a scale (55) that provides a weight signal to the client computer (20) indicating the weight of a component on the scale (55). The server computer (32) includes a data queue (34) to receive database transaction requests in real-time, and a transaction server (36) for receiving the database transaction requests from the data queue (34) and for interfacing with the back-end database (30) by means of a database transaction server (38) to process the received database transaction requests in the order received.</p> |
