The plug connector (1) has a housing (2) containing at least one contact pin or sleeve (3) connected to an electrical conductor (4), e.g. a ribbon conductor, which is fixed in position within the housing. The electrical conductor is provided with an indent (7) between the fixing point (5) and the contact pin or sleeve, for providing a tension restraint, by clamping the electrical conductor between 2 cooperating housing halves.
