FIELD: printing industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transportation of flat articles delivered in cascade flow, such as printed matter and makes it possible to handle non- uniform cascade flows with different distances between front edges of articles, and provides reliable driving of articles into transportation clamps. According to said method, at least two delivered articles are gripped by one transportation clamp from side relative to direction of transportation in clamping zone in which there is at least one zone of putting articles one onto the other. Said article are held by clamp and transported further. Device contains feed conveyor for transportation of articles in cascade flow receiving zone, and transportation device installed after feed conveyor, with transportation clamps arranged one after the other in direction of transportation and made with possibility of independent control of transportation clamp designed for gripping at least two articles from side in receiving zone and further transportation of articles.
