PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet the requirement for enhancing the performance of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell or a liquid fuel cell by improving the dispersibility and applicability of a catalyst layer during manufacturing processes. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the polymer electrolyte fuel cell showing higher performance is provided which achieves stable and uniform application of the catalyst layer by completely removing, using freeze-drying method, a solvent used in a polymer electrolyte solution to adsorb the polymer electrolyte onto the catalyst so as to increase the area of contact between the catalyst and the polymer electrolyte, that is, to increase the area of reaction, and by effecting re-dispersion into a variety of optimal solvents to fabricate the paint of the catalyst layer. |
