SOLUTION: This electronic dictionary 10 has dictionary data 30 having information in response to a keyword, and displays the information corresponding to the keyword corresponding to the inputted character string, and is provided with a referring means 25 for extending a selecting range with a selecting character as the forefront on condition of selecting optional one character as the selecting character from displayed information, determining a maximally selectable maximum selecting range, retrieving the information corresponding to the keyword included up to the maximum selecting range from the selecting character, and displaying this information as a summary. |
