摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging method by which a sufficient charged quantity can be obtained even if a battery has deteriorated. SOLUTION: This charging method has constant current charging which charges a battery with a constant current value IO until the voltage of the battery reaches a prescribed voltage, and multistage constant current charging which is carried out after that and charges the battery with current values smaller than the constant value IO. The smaller value a charging finish current value ICF for a battery in the multistage constant current charging is set, the larger the degree of deterioration of the battery is. As the degree of deterioration, the degree of deterioration of an output or the internal resistance of the battery is used. The degree of output deterioration is the inverse number of an output deterioration coefficient. Moreover, it does not matter if the finish value ICF in the multistage constant current charging is set to a value larger than a charging finish current value at a reference temperature, when the temperature of the battery is higher than a reference temperature 20 deg. C, and to a value smaller than the charging finish current value at the reference temperature, when the battery temperature is lower than the reference value.
