A metal wire can be bent into a shape suitable for being used as support element (1) for the leg of a table or similar item, or as the leg itself. The wire is wound into a spiral (2) at the lower end accommodating a screw (3) in its center. The individual leg can be adjusted in height by tightening or releasing the screw (3) with a screw driver.
