PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for image reproducing that can reduce a processing time required to read and reproduce image data independently of the number of pixels of an imaging element. SOLUTION: The image reproducing device of this invention is provided with; a means (11) for generating a 1st image signal from an image signal; a means (12) for generating a second image signal whose size is reduced from the image signal when the capacity required to store the produced first image signal is greater than a prescribed capacity; a first storage means (13) for storing the first image signal cross-referenced with first identification information; a second storage means (14) for storing the second image signal cross-referenced with second identification information; and means (16, 17, 18) for reading the second image signal and reproducing an image when it is discriminated that a storage device stores the second image signal or reading and reproducing the first image signal when no storage of the second image signal is discriminated. |
