SOLUTION: The optical disk device performs trial write at a fundamental linear speed and obtains the most suitable recording power value for the fundamental linear speed and obtains the recording power for each linear speed in accordance with an arithmetic formula by using the most suitable recording power for the fundamental linear speed and an arithmetic coefficient for the linear speed and determines the recording power, and the optical disk device is provided with a means 16 which discriminates the classification of an optical disk 1 and a zone parameter storage means 17 where the division time of division of recording zones and the recording linear speed of each recording zone are stored for each optical disk, and test recording is performed in two or more positions of the optical disk at different recording linear speeds to optimize and store zone parameters.
