PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical disk device which enables quick recording without causing out-of-servo by discriminating the classification of an optical disk to correctly detect the variance of a maximum write speed, which is caused by production variance, when zone recording is applied on the optical disk in the ZCLV system. SOLUTION: The optical disk device performs trial write at a fundamental linear speed and obtains the most suitable recording power value for the fundamental linear speed and obtains the recording power for each linear speed in accordance with an arithmetic formula by using the most suitable recording power for the fundamental linear speed and an arithmetic coefficient for the linear speed and determines the recording power, and the optical disk device is provided with a means 16 which discriminates the classification of an optical disk 1 and a zone parameter storage means 17 where the division time of division of recording zones and the recording linear speed of each recording zone are stored for each optical disk, and test recording is performed in two or more positions of the optical disk at different recording linear speeds to optimize and store zone parameters. |
