<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radiotelephone which can be a multi-band type, available in a plurality of different frequency bands and matched in any frequency band, and makes the characteristics unchanged whether a rod-like antenna is in an expanded or shed state. SOLUTION: A multi-band portable radiotelephone 100, using a first low-frequency band and a second frequency band which is higher than the first band for communication comprises a cabinet 1 containing a printed board 11, a transceiver circuit 12, etc., a first rod-like antenna 16 expandable and shrinkable, relative to the cabinet, and a second antenna contained in the cabinet 1. The first and second antennas are used in the first and frequency bands, respectively. The first antenna 16 is matched in one frequency band, by a matching circuit 13 alone and can be matched for the optimal condition, whether it is in a shed or expanded state.</p> |
