PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device for reducing white balance processing. SOLUTION: The image pickup device includes; an imaging means for photographing an object image, applying interlace scanning to pixels at an interval of one line for each field period, and reading a frame image by two fields to acquire image data by one image pattern; a memory for temporarily and sequentially storing the image data outputted from the imaging means; and a control means for reading the image data of the first and second fields from the memory before reading of the image data of the second field is finished from the imaging means to calculated a white balance coefficient.
