PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of an operation abnormality when switching attributes of a storage device. SOLUTION: When mode switching is instructed through a network or from a switch part 114, an attribute controller 108 transmits an attribute setting request signal to a storage device management part 101. An attribute control part 110 reads out attribute information corresponding to the attribute setting request signal from an attribute setting state storage part 112, stores the information in an attribute information management part 111, to thereby update the attribute information in a storage part 106 recognized by an OS, and issues change permission to the attribute controller 108. The attribute controller 108 instructs a disc control part 107 to change the storage part 106 to the attribute information corresponding to the mode switching instruction. The disc control part 107 reads out the attribute information from the attribute setting state storage part 112 in response to the instruction, switches the attribute of the storage part 106, and synchronizes the attributes recognized by the OS with the attributes of the storage part 106.
