PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording tape cartridge which hardly causes deformation and cracking on a case wall part even when an opening part and notched part which is functionally important is formed on the case wall part. SOLUTION: Inclined walls 14S, 16S are respectively formed on a right side corner part 14E of the upper case 14 and a right side corner part 16E of the lower case 16 of a magnetic tape cartridge 10. The opening part 22 drawing out a leader pin 26 is formed near the right side corner parts 14E, 16E. A reinforcing rib 36 is disposed adjacently to the inclined wall 16S which forms an opening edge on the lower case 16 and a reinforcing rib 34 is formed likewise on the upper case 14. As a result, the shock applied to the right side corner parts 14E, 16E is dispersed and transferred to the reinforcing ribs 34, 36 and, therefore, deformation and cracking hardly occurs on the inclined walls 14S, 16S forming the opening part 22.
