Dipole for generation of an electromagnetic field comprises a first electrode in the form of a round rod shaped conductor (1) with a pointed tip (2) having a defined length (l1) covered by a corrosion resistant electrically conducting surface (3) with the remainder of its length covered by an insulating layer (4). The second dipole electrode (5) is concentric with the first electrode and arranged at a distance (a) from it. The second electrode is in the form of a spiral wound on the insulating layer on top of the first electrode. It has a defined length (l2) and is covered by a corrosion resistant electrically conducting surface layer (3).
