The invention concerns compositions and methods for assay or detection of Apolipoprotein A IV Related Protein in samples. In particular, the invention concerns a method for directly measuring AA4RP in biological samples. The invention also concerns synthetic products of AA4RP, corresponding antibodies and kits containing them, and their uses for detecting, quantifying AA4RP in a sample, or for quantifying atherogenic and non atherogenic lipoparticles in a sample.
