A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CHANNEL DECODING BASED ON A COMBINATION OF PUNCTURED CONVOLUTIONAL CODE AND QAM

A method and device for channel decoding. In the transmitter, input bits are encoded based upon a punctured convolutional code, the symbols synthesized with the encoded bits are interleaved and then provided to a QAM modulator; In the receiver, the received signal is de-interleaved, and the de-interleaved data is decoded to out put the estimate values of the coded bits the values of the branch metrics are gained by processing the real part and imaginary part of the received signal respectively utilizing the information of modulation mode and truncated-bit-matrix. Comparing with other decoding method, the calculation in the present is simple and improves efficiency of the communication system.
