PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for an electrochemical device and an electrochemical device with excellent cycle and load characteristics by having a mechanism for closing voids to interrupt currents without shrinking during heating, and enabling use of a binder having high affinity with electrolyte, such as PVDF. SOLUTION: The separator for the electrochemical device contains a binder whose gel percentage with the electrolyte at 70 to 150 deg.C is in the range of 50 to 100% and having a Mooney viscosity of 30 to 120, and resin particles having melting points in the range of 70 to 150 deg.C. The electrochemical device using the separator is also disclosed. |
