PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium which allows normalization of a signal without being affected by a crosstalk signal from adjacent tracks in reproducing information yielding a reproduced signal whose level is multi-valued. SOLUTION: On the optical information recording medium, address information or recording data are recorded with ternary or more multi-valued information and patterns for normalizing the reproduced signal are included before an address information area or a data area D and information is recorded on tracks with the CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) system, the ZCAV (Zone Constant Angular Velocity) system, or the ZCLV (Zone Constant Linear Velocity) system. Normalizing pattern areas B consisting of pattern strings for normalizing the reproduced signal are shifted in the circumferential direction so that they may not overlap in the radial direction between adjacent tracks, and therefore, a normalized pattern signal which is not affected by the crosstalk signal from adjacent tracks can be detected at the time of reproducing multi-valued information because the normalizing pattern areas B do not overlap between adjacent tracks, and the influences of the variance in reflection factor of the optical disk, the variance caused by mechanical precision, the fluctuation of the recording and reproducing power, etc., are removed. |
